Who uses The Wellness Community?
Adults with cancer, families and friends, who desire to improve the quality of their lives
and share support in their fight for recovery.What does it cost
to participate?
There is no cost. The Wellness Community is a non-profit organization supported by
tax-deductible contributions from individuals, businesses and foundations.
Do participants follow a specific program?
No. Participants may select any or all parts of the program, and may come as
frequently as they choose. Each individual knows what best suits him or herself.
Are medical services available?
No. The Wellness Community does not have a medical staff on site. Individuals
seek their own medical treatment. TWC does maintain a Professional Advisory Board
comprised of dedicated oncology professionals from area hospitals and agencies who
volunteer to advise, support, and collaborate with us on our programs.
How does The Wellness Community relate to The American Cancer
Society?
The programs of the Massachusetts Division of The American Cancer Society and The
Wellness Community-Greater Boston are complementary and mutually support the needs of
cancer patients and their families throughout the state and New England.
Are there other locations of The Wellness Community?
Yes. The Wellness Community is a national organization that was founded in
1982 by Dr. Harold Benjamin. There are locations throughout the country. The
