Who uses The Wellness Community?
Adults with cancer, families and friends, who desire to improve the quality of their lives and share support in their fight for recovery.

What does it cost to participate?
There is no cost. The Wellness Community is a non-profit organization supported by tax-deductible contributions from individuals, businesses and foundations.

How can I help?
The Wellness Community offers a variety of ongoing or event-related volunteer opportunities. We place a great value of those who generously donate their time. There are also many ways in which you can contribute to The Wellness Community financially. Click here for more details.

Do participants follow a specific program?
No. Participants may select any or all parts of the program, and may come as frequently as they choose. Each individual knows what best suits him or herself.

Are medical services available?
No. The Wellness Community does not have a medical staff on site. Individuals seek their own medical treatment. TWC does maintain a Professional Advisory Board comprised of dedicated oncology professionals from area hospitals and agencies who volunteer to advise, support, and collaborate with us on our programs.

How does The Wellness Community relate to The American Cancer Society?
The programs of the Massachusetts Division of The American Cancer Society and The Wellness Community-Greater Boston are complementary and mutually support the needs of cancer patients and their families throughout the state and New England.

Are there other locations of The Wellness Community?
Yes. The Wellness Community is national organization that was founded in 1982 by Dr. Harold Benjamin. With 21 facilities nationwide, The Virtual Wellness Community on the Internet and international centers in Tel Aviv and Tokyo, The Wellness Community provides a home-like setting for people living with cancer and their loved ones to connect with and learn from each other. Most importantly, all programs at The Wellness Community are free of charge. The Wellness Community-Greater Boston is the only New England location.
