This
is an opportunity for people who are beyond the
daily challenge of cancer, but wish to gather with
their friends at TWC. If
you have participated in a group at TWC or if you
are currently a participant and thinking of moving
on from group, you are invited to come and help
create this important network. Typically on the third Wednesday of the month at
6:00p.m..
Breast Cancer Networking
This is a special interest group for those people
who have or have had breast cancer. The group explores
specific issues and concerns related to living with
breast cancer. NEW DAY: Now the first Tuesday of the
month at 5:30p.m.
Colorectal Networking
This is a special interest group for those people who have any form of colorectal cancer. The group explores specific issues and concerns related to living with colorectal cancer. Typically meets the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00p.m.
Couples Networking - Not currently offered
A diagnosis of cancer affects the whole family,
and in particular confronts couples with new challenges
as they reorganize and try to adjust to the illness
and the changes that it imposes on their lives and
relationships. This group will provide an opportunity
to talk with other couples about these issues, share
coping strategies and explore together the new landscape
of the relationship.
Family Connection - Bereavement
This group is open to family and friends who have
experienced the death of a person to cancer. Prior
participation at the Wellness Community by family,
friends or the loved one is required. Typically
the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm.
Gynecologic Cancers Networking
This support group has expanded its scope from ovarian cancer to any gynecologic cancer. We'll explore common issues and concerns for women who have or have had any form of a gynecologic cancer. Typically the first Thursday of the month at 5:30p.m.
Kids Connection - Bereavement
Kids Connection is a bereavement support group for
children ages 7-12 who have lost a parent to cancer.
The group provides a safe, nurturing setting in
which children can reflect on their loss and its
impact on their lives. Most of the children have
been previously involved with Kids Count,TOO!, although
the program is open to all children who have experienced
the death of a parent from cancer. The group, which
is activity based, is facilitated by a licensed
therapist. Teen volunteers (all of whom have experienced
the death of a parent from cancer) will sometimes assist with
the group. Held on alternating Thursdays at 3:45p.m.

Kids
Count Too!
Kids Count Too! is a support program for children
with a parent with cancer. This program provides
support and education to children ages 4-12 who have a parent with cancer. A concurrent
group is offered for the adults. Typically
held the second Saturday of the Month. No Kids Count
Too programs in July or August.

the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30p.m.
Mens Networking - The Wellness
Community, Newton Upper Falls
Men who have any form or stage of cancer explore their specific
issues and concerns. Led by Tim Cummings,
LICSW. Typically the first Tuesday of the month
at 7:00p.m.

Men who have any form or stage of cancer explore their specific

Come and join us in giving and receiving support from other moms facing the unique stresses of parenting with cancer. This 90-minute group typically held the second and forth Mondays at 10:30a.m.
Multiple Myeloma
Networking
This group explores specific issues and concerns
for those who have or have had multiple myeloma
and their caregivers. Typically the third Saturday
of the month at 10:00PM.
Prostate Cancer Connection
This group explores specific issues and concerns
for men who have or have had prostate cancer. Typically
the fourth Thursday of the month at 10:15AM.
Teen Networking
The group offers a safe place for teenagers who
have a parent with cancer. They can explore
feelings and have the opportunity to meet others
who understand their situation. The 90-minute group will meet every first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:00p.m.
Wellness Community at Dimock:Weekly Drop-In
In partnership with Dimock Community Health Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, The Wellness Community is offering a weekly support group for adults with any stage or form of cancer. This group is co-led by Abe Feingold and Andrea Williams and meets in the Richards Building Educational Resource Center at Dimock. The 90-minute cancer support group is free of charge and meets every Wednesday starting at 10:30AM. Call 617-442-8800 x1790 for information.
