The
Wellness Community offers two types of weekly support
groups: one for people with cancer and the other
for a primary caregiver of the person with cancer.
All weekly support groups are facilitated by licensed
psychotherapists and are an effective way to receive
support from others at The Wellness Community who
share similar experiences. Groups meet weekly for
two hours, and require an interview prior to
joining.
"We
have cried and laughed together, mourned loss and
applauded growth. As horrible... as having
cancer is, I am a better person for... the extraordinary
persons in my group." - Participant, The
Wellness Community.
PARTICIPANT SUPPORT GROUPS
are ongoing and led by licensed psychotherapists.
Groups meet weekly for two hours, and require an
interview prior to joining. People with cancer offer
support to one another, explore new ways of dealing
with the stresses of cancer, and learn techniques
to become partners with their health care team.
