Cancer
and the Workplace
A discussion of rights and protections available
to employees with cancer. Well discuss relevant
laws that address discrimination issues, the impact
of job changes on health insurance and medical leave

Yourself Through Art!
We will explore with paints and/or oil pastels
as we bring out on paper the world within ourselves.
This workshop is for everyone no experience
necessary! Just bring your love of the creative
process and see what unfolds. Kathleen Klein is
an art therapist and a cancer survivor who has worked
at Childrens Hospital and is currently working
with adults in the Elder Arts Program.

Tamoxifen
and Beyond: Part l Prevention
Join Ursula Matulonis, MD, of Harvard Medical School
and DFCI for a discussion of the risk factors for
breast cancer and how to best minimize them. This
presentation will address the use of Tamoxifen,
a known breast cancer prevention medication. Well
also discuss alternatives to Tamoxifen.

for Caring
In this workshop Judith Kahn, LICSW of New England
Medical Center, and Lucette Robinson, NP, Oncology
Nurse Educator from Ortho Biotech, will address
the many concerns of people who are caregivers for
loved ones with cancer. Topics to be covered include
pain and symptom management, understanding the range
of family members emotions, managing stress
and finding necessary resources. The goal of the
program is to improve total care of the person with
cancer, reduce the burden of caregiving and enhance
the positive aspects of the caregiving experience.
A light supper will be served.

The Healing Cup

of Tea Time World Wide, for her second workshop
on the benefits of tea for people recovering from
cancer. This workshop will include new teas for
those who had previously attended along with information
about Essiac, an Indian herbal tea believed
to have specific benefits for cancer patients.

Tamoxifen
and Beyond: Part ll Tamoxifen and New Alternatives
In this workshop, Ursula Matulones, MD will focus
on the use of Tamoxifen, a commonly used medication,
to prevent breast cancer recurrences. Alternative
medications will also be discussed as well as factors
to be considered when deciding on a medication.
